Prefer to do it yourself?

Free OCR tools exist, but they often dump raw, messy text. This focuses on returning something organized enough to drop into a spreadsheet or workflow.

Where your document goes

Your file goes to our server at gate402.app. We read the text out of it there; a photo is OCR’d on our own machine, not sent anywhere for that. The first 12,000 characters of the text, and the fields you asked for, then go to OpenRouter, an outside AI service, which runs the model (Llama 3.1 8B) at one of the companies that host it. How long they keep it is up to their policies, not ours. Receipts, IDs and forms often carry names, addresses and account numbers, so if you wouldn’t paste this one into an AI chat, don’t use this tool. More on the privacy page.

Clear scans and photos of printed text. Faint or heavily skewed scans are the hard case for any OCR.
